For those who enjoy growing slightly unusual, lesser-known plants, look no further than our Stunning Stokesia Collection. A curious genus comprising of just one species, stokesia originates from conifer woods in southeast USA, where it is found growing in moist, acid soil. Forming a basal rosette of soft, spiny, evergreen leaves with distinctive white midribs, this hardy perennial sends out upright stems bearing smaller, stalkless leaves and large, open, cornflower-like, fringed, flowers. Blooms are long-lasting, excellent for cutting, and highly attractive to pollinators. The collection comprises of: - 'Divinity'; pure white. - 'Klaus Jelitto'; lilac. - 'Mel's Blue'; violet. Prefer light, fertile, moist, well-drained, acidic soil in a sunny, warm position. Winter waterlogging will not be tolerated, therefore good drainage is key. Providing twiggy support will prevent flopping. H&S: 50cm x 30cm. Hardy, evergreen perennials. May be semi-evergreen in harsher winters.
