Phygelius

History and Origin:

Phygelius are a genus of plants within the Scrophulariaceae family, native to wet slopes and banks in the south of Africa. They are commonly referred to as ‘Cape Fuchsia’ or ‘Cape Figwort’.

About:

Phygelius are evergreen shrubs, usually grown as herbaceous perennial plants in cooler climates. Phygelius have modest yet attractive oval-shaped foliage and large clusters of tubular-shaped flowers that flourish during summer and even into autumn. These plants are best suited to flower beds and borders within a city, courtyard, cottage or informal garden. You should expect to see Phygelius grow to an approximate height and spread of 1.5m (5’).
