New for 2024, this compact, evergreen shrub is ideal for filling in gaps towards the front of a border and will look great all year round in a special container - strategically placed to show off its colourful flowers, of course. Phygelius Candy Drops Tangerine blooms continually from May to September if deadheaded at regular intervals. Flowers are borne in multiple clusters on strong, long stems which also make a striking inclusion in a vase; allowing you to appreciate these exotic blooms indoors as well as out. Resembling a cross between a fuchsia and a penstemon - the vibrant flowers will not go unnoticed, wherever you choose to place them. Phygelius are native to South Africa, where they are predominantly found on banks or in damp, sloping ground (dependent on variety). Phygelius Candy Drops Tangerine is hardy to -10 C without any additional winter protection and this determined, robust shrub reaches a height of 45cm and spreads up to 60cm once mature. Prefers a spot in full sun with a south facing aspect. Plant in moist, well-drained soil and, as an evergreen, foliage will be retained all year round.
