Begonia x tuberhybrida ‘Illumination Salmon Pink’ creates an impressive waterfall for your baskets and containers and is an ideal way to brighten up shady spots. Begonia x tuberhybrida ‘Illumination Salmon Pink’ are tuberous perennials, adored for their plentiful, velvet petalled, blousy blooms and very long flowering season from June to October. They have improved colour, more pendulous blooms, and even better weather resistance, even during a wet summer. Masses of large flowers gently cascade down to around 60cm, almost covering the bushy, verdant foliage beneath. Interestingly, both female and male flowers are produced on the same plant, and as with many species in nature, the male are the more flamboyant. Prefers moist, well-drained soil which is loam or sand based and has an acid or neutral Ph and position in sun or partial shade for best results. Tender, herbaceous perennials which mature to a height and spread of approximately 30cm. As tuberous perennials, these begonias can rot if they get too wet in winter, so we recommend you lift them and keep them away from damp and frost over winter, ready to be re-planted the following spring.
