Garden Inspiration
Tell Me More...
Allium 'Lavender Bubbles' is a beautiful bulbous perennial producing dark, dusky 'bubbles' which appear to magically float over the lush clumps of strap-shaped foliage. Watch as they twist and turn to provide even more interest. A valuable addition to either traditional or modern planting schemes, whether in borders or containers. Allium 'Lavender Bubbles' flowers throughout the summer with hundreds of small, perfectly formed flowers which come together to create fascinating, almost spherical, globes of colour. Once known for their medical, culinary, and aphrodisiac qualities, the foliage releases a slightly oniony fragrance when crushed. Nowadays alliums are a favourite in RHS Show Gardens, and we think that no garden should be without at least a few. Beneficially, Allium 'Lavender Bubbles' is both deer and rabbit resistant and is much loved by bees and butterflies. Looks incredible when used as cut flowers, lasting well in a vase. A hardy, bulbous perennial which is reliably drought tolerant and happy in poor soils, preferring well-drained soil in full sun. Reaches a height of approximately 35cm and spreading to 50cm.
