Packed with colour and intricate markings, Viola cornuta ‘Penny Purple Picotee’ has creamy white and pale-yellow flowers which are edged with purple and have delightful purple streaks on the lower petals. Charmingly the flowers are said to have ‘face’ petals and upper petals, along with the streaks being referred to as ‘whiskers’ – giving these violas a sunny, smiling demeanour, as if looking up to greet you. With a compact, uniform habit, excellent heat tolerance and a prolific flowering ability from October to May, we think they are a must have for the garden. Plant Viola cornuta ‘Penny Purple Picotee’ in pots, borders or hanging baskets – anywhere you can stop and admire their dainty beauty, with a welcoming smile in return.
