Garden Inspiration
Tell Me More...
Evocative of a night sky, large, flattened clusters of scented, starry, white and pink blooms open from bright red buds through December to April. Flowers create a beautiful contrast against the dark, evergreen foliage. Later, in autumn, intriguing metallic blue fruits emerge to delight both you and our feathered friends who will shelter, alongside insects, amongst the winter foliage for protection. This attractive and reliable shrub holds the prestigious Award of Garden Merit, given by the Royal Horticultural Society for outstanding performance in the garden. Viburnum tinus 'Gwenllian' prefers to be grown in moist, well-drained soil in which benefits from full sun to full shade. More compact than many viburnums, 'Gwenllian' reaches an approximate height and spread of around 2.4m when mature. A hardy shrub which will thrive in most British winters, only requiring winter protection during exceptionally cold spells.
