Tell Me More...
Multi-headed Tulip Belicia is an impressive sight in full bloom in the garden. It also makes a stunning cut flower - just a few stems are all that is needed to fill a vase with these gorgeous peony-like flowers. The petals change colour from pale green to cream while retaining the stunning carmine edges.Plant your bulbs in a spot which receives plenty of sunshine, 10cm deep in the ground between October and December. Tulips are happy grown in all soil types as long as it is well-drained. Add a handful of grit to each planting hole if you garden on heavy clay as this will aid drainage.Stems reach up to 50cm tall when the flowers bloom in April and May. If you are cutting your Tulips for floral arrangements, leave some foliage attached to the bulb in the ground to allow the plant to photosynthesise and return the following year.
