Tell Me More...
A new arrival for 2024, Tulipa ‘Sapporo’ is a ‘lily-flowered’ variety with flowers which emerge a buttery yellow colour in April to May and mature to a creamy white shade, with accents of yellow lingering on the inner petals. Coupled with the impressive, fluted petals it is small wonder that the RHS has bestowed an Award of Garden Merit on this dependable, decorative and incredibly stylish bloom. Tulipa ‘Sapporo’, like other ‘lily-flowered’ blooms, has long graceful, upright stems – this variety is up to 45cm tall. Flowers have a sculptural appeal not only in borders, gravel gardens and containers but also in a vase for your home. Plant in fertile, well-drained soil of any kind except heavy clay and position in full sun with any aspect other than north facing. A hardy (H6), bulbous perennials which does not need additional winter protection when planted in the ground.
