Garden Inspiration
Tell Me More...
A delightful primula with short strong stems and multiple blooms which shine like ancient treasures throughout the winter months. Primula elatior 'Colibri Aztec Gold' is a clump-forming, wildlife and pollinator-friendly perennial with a warm and welcoming ambience. Flower stems reach as high as 30cm and plants will spread up to 20cm when mature - naturalising readily in the right conditions. Primula are woodland plants which have a rosette of semi-evergreen leaves and clusters of flowers supported above the foliage on stems of varying heights. They draw together the best qualities of their cousins - the cowslip and the primrose and come in a wide range of colours and forms. Primula elatior 'Colibri Aztec Gold' prefers a site with moist, well-drained soil which is rich in humus and benefits from full sun or partial shade. Happy in a container, and ideal as a magical and opulent coloured addition to light up a shady pathway, hedgerow, or woodland border. A hardy (H6) perennial.
