Vibrant, canary-yellow blooms that will almost seem to sing to you. Pansy ‘Frizzle Sizzle Yellow’ are bright, fun and quirky flowers which bloom from October through to April – offering intense colour when the garden can become sparse. Like smiling faces, the abundance of blooms on full and bushy, compact semi-evergreen foliage will welcome you into your garden through autumn, winter and spring. Large, double, bright-yellow blooms have dark almost whisker-like markings, and each petal is crinkled as if frizzled and sizzled, hence the name. Happy in baskets, borders, containers and window boxes, Pansy ‘Frizzle Sizzle Yellow’ grows to a height and spread of around 25-30cm. Prefers to be grown in well-drained soil any kind which benefits from full sun or partial shade, ‘Frizzle Sizzle Yellow’ is a hardy (H6) annual requiring no additional protection from winter cold. Also known by the botanical name, Viola x wittrockiana - a grand name for one of our much-loved garden favourites. The sweetly scented blooms can be eaten raw, adding fabulous colour to salads along with a slightly bitter, grassy flavour. Alternatively, you can crystallise the blooms for a colourful, decorative garnish on desserts and puddings.
