Garden Inspiration
Tell Me More...
An award-winning and established variety which brings soft, creamy-white flowers to the garden in May and June in double form. Flowers are blousy and ruffled with an exquisite fragrance that will waft across the garden on summer breezes - enticing in pollinators for a nectar-rich feast. Paeonia lactiflora 'Duchesse de Nemours' is a classic variety which can trace its roots back to the middle of the nineteenth century. It has long been favoured by florists as stems are long, strong and ideal for vases and bouquets - lasting well and adding their perfume to a room. There will be plenty of flower for both the garden and the vase once this symbol of luck, prosperity and love has established itself.Plant Paeonia lactiflora 'Duchesse de Nemours' in moist, well-drained soil which benefits from either full sun or partial shade, with any aspect other than north-facing. Matures to a height of 80cm with a spread of 85cm so ideal for a container too. A hardy, herbaceous perennial that needs no winter protection in most of the UK.
