Garden Inspiration
Tell Me More...
Elegant and alluring, Helleborus orientalis 'Single White' is an eye-catching beauty. Despite the dainty appearance, the single, sophisticated flowers seem to defy nature, surviving winter cold and enticing you into your garden for a closer look. Whilst most other plants slumber in the coldest months, large, nodding, cup-shaped flowers will peek out through the snow above clumps of glossy, leathery, dark evergreen foliage, highlighting their true beauty. A great source of food for the earliest emerging pollinating insects, in Medieval times, Helleborus were said to be good for breaking bad spells and curses and were planted next to the front door. Today hellebores are known for their unsurpassed winter beauty. Helleborus are deer and rabbit resistant, preferring to be grown in moist, well-drained soil in full or dappled shade. Fully hardy, an almost maintenance free perennial, you will enjoy them in containers or borders year after year.
