Unlike its inspirational references – these floriferous beauties will happily thrive in a shady spot to illuminate a trickier section of your garden with vibrant colour. Impatiens walleriana ‘Glimmer Double Appleblossom’ is a tender perennial and, as such, will need overwintering indoors when outside temperatures drop below 5°C. Alternatively, it can be grown as an annual, as many gardeners do if they do not have space indoors or access to a heated greenhouse. This variety is valued for its extra mildew resistance and robust nature. Impatiens walleriana ‘Glimmer Double Appleblossom’ will produce blooms in abundance from May to October and is ideal for containers, baskets and window boxes – adding vibrancy as a stand-alone plant or when incorporated into mixed bedding displays.
