An inspirational ensemble of vivacious miniature, double petunias. Flowers are produced in abundance from June to October and will trail by around 50cm to create colourful waterfalls of foliage and flowers in containers and baskets or over raised beds and walls. Plants have a neat, mound-forming habit and are ‘self-cleaning’, meaning spent flowers are shed naturally so no deadheading is needed. Blooms are pollinator friendly and drought tolerant once established. The ’Colliding Calibrachoa ‘Can-Can Double’ Collection’ comprises ‘PinkTastic’ with masses of delicate, semi-double blooms in bicoloured pink and cream; ‘Wine Red’ again masses of dainty, double blooms in rich, velvety shades; and ‘Red’ with its vivid, scarlet hues – resembling a cluster of little, red roses. Plants reach a height of around 30cm and spread the same to form generous, frothing displays. Plant the ‘Colliding Calibrachoa ‘Can-Can Double’ Collection’ in well-drained soil or compost of any type and choose a site which benefits from full sun or partial shade. These are tender, evergreen perennials which do not tolerate frost and therefore need to be protected in a greenhouse or conservatory over the winter. Alternatively, grow them as annuals and replenish stocks each year.
