History and Origin:

Prunus are a genus of plants within the Rosaceae family, native to temperate regions in the Northern Hemisphere. They are commonly known as the ‘stone fruit’. It was first documented by Carl Linnaeus in 1737.

Prunus are deciduous or evergreen trees or shrubs with brilliantly bright blooms that flower prolifically during the spring. They are renowned for their often interesting and attractive autumnal foliage that infuses rich colour.
