Heuchera

History and Origin:

Heuchera are a genus of plants within the Saxifragaceae family, native to North America. They are commonly known as ‘alumroot’ or ‘coral bells’. The genus was given in honour of Johann Heinrich von Heucher (1677–1746), an 18th-century German physician.

About:

Heuchera are mostly evergreen, clump forming perennials that are famous for their intensely vibrant foliage colour and panicles of small, tubular flowers. Attractive, rounded and palmately lobed leaves display an abundance of colour in a variety of autumnal shades. Flowers appear during the summer but you can enjoy colour from its foliage all year-round.
