Tell Me More...
A winter gem with a sweet perfume which will scent the garden from November right through to April. Tight clusters of pretty flowers are held on bare branches throughout this time and make a perfect inclusion in a vase, with just one or two branches able to fill a room with scent. Bronze foliage emerges in spring, changing to dark green in summer then fiery orange and yellow in autumn before falling to make way for more blooms. A fantastic shrub for sustaining pollinators over wintertime and happy in a sheltered border, container or against a protective wall to prevent the flowers from becoming frost damaged. Can even be grown as a hedge or pruned to become a small tree.Plant in moist, well-drained soil with any aspect other than north facing. A hardy, deciduous shrub which reaches a height of 3 metres and spreads up to 2 metres.
