A new addition to our foliage plants for 2024. This is a strikingly unusual coleus with compact foliage which grows to a height and spread of 30-35cm. This means Plectranthus scutellarioides ‘Skeletal’ remains neat and tidy throughout the growing season from March to October. Furthermore, the colourful and richly patterned leaves will certainly hold their own amongst the most eye-catching flowers - radiating shades of red, purple, brown, yellow, white and green. In September, pale violet flowers emerge – although the blooms are considered ‘insignificant’ against the leaves and can be removed as they appear to prevent the plants becoming ‘leggy’. This versatile newcomer is a fabulous inclusion in baskets and pots, as well as making excellent groundcover. It also makes an enviable houseplant.
