A trio of plants with long-lasting, tongue-shaped foliage in rich colours which is retained for most, if not all, of the year. Emerging with greenish tones, leaves deepen and intensify into shades of purple, black or red as autumn approaches. From July to October the ‘Luscious Hylotelephium Collection’ produces strong, stout stems, perfect for cutting to add to a vase or floral display. These bear large, branching clusters of star-shaped flowers, said to resemble broccoli, adding dramatic tones and even more vibrant, intriguing colour. Flowers are fabulous for pollinators whilst plants are drought tolerant and easy-going.
‘Luscious Hylotelephium Collection’ comprises much-loved ‘Thunderhead’ with its reddish pink flowers and purple foliage (H&S: 60-75cm); new arrival ‘Back in Black’ with pink and red blooms over dark, almost black, evergreen leaves (H&S: 60-70cm); and newcomer ‘Peach Pearls’ with reddish, evergreen leaves and orange, yellow blooms (H&S: 40cm).
All prefer well-drained soil of any kind except heavy clay. Position in full sun or partial shade with a south or west facing aspect. Fully hardy perennials which do not need additional protection over winter when planted in the ground.
