A fully double hellebore with interesting creamy white flowers. Helleborus x hybridus ‘Double Ellen Picotee’ is exceptionally delicate in appearance, owing to the deep purple-pink edging found on each individual petal. (‘Picotee’ is a name often given to flowers with a contrasting colour at the edge of their petals). This beautiful bloom offers a slightly more playful and frivolous take on the muted elegance of hellebores. Helleborus x hybridus ‘Double Ellen Picotee’ is a fully hardy, semi-evergreen, clump forming plant, which loves a spot in partial to full shade underneath a tree or shrub. Plant in moist, well-drained soil of any kind except sand based. Beneficially deer and rabbit resistant, your hellebore has an eventual height and spread of approximately 35cm. Care wise, cut back the large leaves of the previous year once new foliage and flowers start to appear. Helleborus provide a rich source of nectar for solitary bees, whose awakening from hibernation coincides neatly with the blooming of these flowers from January to May.
