Tell Me More...
Bring some Spanish heat to your garden borders and pots with Helenium autumnale ‘Fuego’. This compact, herbaceous perennial arrives fashionably late to the summer party, and as others are flagging ‘Fuego’ starts the fire again! Growing up to 60cm and spreading up to 50cm, Helenium autumnale ‘Fuego’ has deep green foliage, smothered by daisy-like blooms radiating summer warmth in colours of golden yellow and orange red – each flower has a central cone of deep, velvet brown. Blooms last from July to October and will certainly bring a smile to your face as they support your garden’s transition from summer to autumn - offering late season nectar for visiting bees and butterflies. Excellent for cutting to add to a vase and be sure to deadhead plants as flowers fade in order to prolong blooming time. Helenium love to be planted in any warm aspect with fertile, moist, well-drained soil of any kind. Position in full sun with any aspect other than north facing. Plants will even tolerate salt
