Large, daisy-like blooms in golden shades of yellow and orange will be dancing in your borders through summer to the first frosts. Helenium Can Can is a joy to behold.Known also as Helen's Flower, said to be named due to the central disc resembling the golden headdress worn by Helen of Troy. Helenium flower all summer, with the characteristic shuttlecock-like flower shape. Tall strong stems hold the blooms high above the foliage, which makes Helenium perfect as cut flowers, lasting well in a vase. Versatile, whether planted with grasses in a prairie garden, in a cottage garden, or in a more formal design, Helenium are happy in containers and borders creating bold colour for months on end, from mid-summer, until late autumn.A more unusual name for this gorgeous plant is 'Sneezeweed', because the leaves were once used in snuff. Helenium are easy to grow and very long flowering, preferring to be grown in well-drained soil in sun or part shade. Can Can grows outside happily with no winter protection, reaching heights of approximately 80cm (32") and spreading to around 60cm (24").
