Cosmos bipinnatus ‘Xanthos’ will be one of the most sensational and zesty bloomers in the border! Bursting with charisma, Cosmos bipinnatus ‘Xanthos’ is a half-hardy annual which will passionately flower its heart out throughout the summer and into early autumn reaching a height of 60cm with a spread of around 40cm. Sitting atop oodles of attractive feathery foliage its striking lemon yellow, saucer-like blooms will sway in the summer breeze - flashing their adorable yellow centres at passing birds, bees and butterflies. The daisy-like blooms look great when cut for a vase. Collect them in the morning, before the blooms open and they could last up to ten days in the vase. Incredibly, the more you deadhead the plant, the more the blooms magically appear. We absolutely love mass planting these for the fullest, brightest display possible. Cosmos grow in most ordinary garden soil, just ensure the area is well-drained and in a sunny position with any aspect other than north facing.
