Loropetalum is a genus within the Hamamelidaceae family, native to China, Japan and south east Asia. The genus name is derived from the Greek word ‘loron’ meaning ‘strap’ and ‘petalon’ meaning ‘petal’.
Loropetalum are evergreen and free-flowering shrubs with a compact foil of fluffy spider -like scented flowers and colour changing leaves during winter and spring.
