Juncus us a genus of around 300 species of flowering plants within the family Juncaceae and look much like a grass. They are more commonly known as rushes. Juncus can be found growing throughout the world and naturally grow in wet areas.
Juncus can be annuals, deciduous or evergreen perennials and form clumps or narrow leaves. Small brown flowers bloom in summer. They are well-suited to growing in moist, poorly-drained soil and are suitable to plant in shallow water such as at the edge of a pond.
