Heliopsis

History and Origin:

Heliopsis is a genus of flowering plants within the Asteraceae family, native to North and South America. They are commonly known as ‘ox-eye’. The genus name is derived from the Greek word ‘helios’ meaning ‘sun’ and ‘opsis’ meaning ‘appearance’ relating to their brightly coloured flowers.

About:

Heliopsis are perennial plants with erect stems and attractive lance-shaped foliage. Above the divine foliage sits large sunflower – like blooms in cheerful shades of yellow and orange throughout summer and autumn.
