Edgeworthia

History and Origin:

Edgeworthia are a genus of plants within the Thymelaeaceae family, native to China. They are commonly known as the ‘paper bush’ or the ‘rice paper plant’. The genus name was given in honour of Michael Pakenham Edgeworth, an Irish botanist between the years 1812-1881.

About:

Edgeworthia are deciduous or evergreen shrubs with simplistic leaves and cinnamon coloured branches that hold an abundance of rounded, silky clusters of sweet and fragrant flowers from late winter to early spring. They are best planted in flower beds or borders within a courtyard or informal garden setting.
