Ceanothus

History and Origin:

Ceanothus is a genus of around 50-60 species of shrubs or small trees within the family Rhamnazeae and it native to North America. It is known by the common names California Lilac, Wild Lilac and Soap Bush. The name Ceanothus originates from a Greek work meaning 'spiny plant'.

About:

Ceanothus are evergreen or deciduous shrubs or small trees with small blue, pink or white flowers that form in clusters. They are well-suited to planting in borders and beds and go well in a cottage garden.
