Tell Me More...
Richly coloured and aromatic beauty for your borders and containers, offering some often much needed vertical interest. Commencing in June and continuing through to the first frosts, masses of tiny blooms tightly pack each stem above mounds of verdant, sage scented foliage. Salvia 'Mystic Spires Blue' is also fabulous for attracting bees and butterflies to your garden and can even be cut to add to a vase or bouquet. A compact variety which reaches a height and spread of 75cm - plants will happily thrive in a rockery or dry garden too and planted 'en masse' will create swathes of colour in prairie style gardens.Native to plains, meadows and woodland edges of Mexico, Texas and New Mexico Salvia 'Mystic Spires Blue' is an easy-going plant which is medicinally beneficial for oral health and brain function as well as having anti-inflammatory properties.Plant in well-drained soil of any type except clay. Prefers a spot in full sun or partial shade with a south or west facing aspect. A tender plant most frequently grown as annual bedding - compost plants down once the cold weather arrives and they die back.
