This is a relatively new Antirrhinum to belong to the ‘Twinny’ family. Antirrhinum majus ‘Twinny Bronze Shades’ is one of the first dwarf, double flowered Snapdragon and produces prolific clusters of large, double blooms with frilled petals covering pretty foliage from June to October. Oblivious to heat or rain plants will flower for several months above the lush green foliage and are perfect for containers, the front of a sunny border and for a vase – where they will last for up to 10 days and share their sweet, subtle perfume. Entertainingly, the Latin name ‘antirrhinum’ means ‘like a snout’ and is believed to refer to the seedpod looking rather like a calf’s snout! Antirrhinum majus ‘Twinny Bronze Shades’ is an easy-going plant which prefers moist, well-drained soil of any kind except heavy clay in a position with full sun or partial shade of any aspect. A half-hardy (H3) perennial which reaches a height of approximately 30cm with a spread 35cm. Protect from frost or collect seed to re-stock for the following season.
