Tell Me More...
For those among us who love wisteria but have neither the time nor the ability to climb ladders twice yearly in order to prune them! Wisteria frutescens ‘Amethyst Falls’ provides gardeners with the perfect solution. Not only is this beauty joyously quick to establish and produce those much-loved, highly fragrant, pea-like panicles– the top growth remains manageably compact when this variety is planted in a container. This means you can restrict growth and keep your plant’s size manageable yet still enjoy floriferous fragrance from May to July each year. Just perfect for a favourite spot on the patio or a balcony. Wisteria frutescens ‘Amethyst Falls’ prefers to be grown in well-drained soil of any kind. Position in full sun or partial shade with a south or west-facing aspect. Your hardy (H5), deciduous, climbing shrub will still grow to around 3-5m if you choose to plant it in the ground so make sure you choose the most appropriate planting method for you.
