Tell Me More...
A showstopping West Country Lupin which is certain to make a statement in your summer garden. Lupinus 'West Country Rachel de Thame' is perfect for cottage garden which now features heavily in modern planting schemes too. A bold and vibrant spectacle which is one of a series of 'giant' lupins, with an eventual height which is double that of a standard lupin. Its huge, tapered, upright spires of pink and white blooms are perfect for weaving throughout the mid to rear section of a border, where they will provide strong, eye-catching vertical accents. The foliage is also an attractive feature in its own right; with palmate, divided into narrow leaflets held from March to October. Lupins are also a particularly valuable source of nectar for pollinators - always a visual delight to behold as they busy themselves gathering in their precious food. Lupinus 'West Country Rachel de Thame' prefers to be planted in moderately fertile, well-drained, soil which benefits from full sun or partial shade. A hardy, herbaceous perennial which reaches a height of up to 90cm with a spread of 60cm.
