Tell Me More...
For an easy, attractive way to fill those odd patches of bare soil, the delightful Viola cornuta ‘Boughton Blue’ is hard to better. This spreading, evergreen perennial will cover ground with its delicate, fresh green foliage, enchanting with its exquisite, lilac-flushed, clear sky-blue flowers for months at a time. Let not its dainty appearance have you fooled, this little perennial is surprisingly robust, hailing from a species found growing wild in the Spanish Pyrenees. Perfect for planting beneath deciduous shrubs such as roses, at the front of borders, or spilling over path and container edges. Prefers fertile, humus-rich, moist, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. H&S: 20cm x 25cm. Hardy, evergreen perennial. Benefits from cutting back after flowering, to maintain a neat appearance and encourage a further flush of blooms.
