Tell Me More...
An unusual and exciting variety of this much-loved garden favourite. Vinca difformis 'Jenny Pym' forms intertwining mats of glossy, evergreen leaves to carpet banks, borders and almost anywhere you choose to plant it. Then, from January to March each year, exquisitely marked simple flowers with a bicoloured, ombre white and pinkish-mauve colouration are held. An excellent early source of nectar for pollinators - bees and other insects are sure to arrive at flowers on sunny days for an invigorating feast.Vinca, or periwinkle, in the language of flowers means faith, trust, and everlasting love. Some also see it as a symbol of new beginnings or friendships. So, this delicate looking, yet robust plant holds a wealth of meaning in its low-growing leaves and flowers and would make a perfect gift too.Vinca difformis 'Jenny Pym' prefers a spot in moist, well-drained soil which benefits from either sun or shade. A hardy, evergreen perennial which readily naturalises. Individual plants reach a height of up to 45cm and will spread 1.5m.
