Tell Me More...
This fascinating flower is straight out of a storybook - Veronica spicata 'Christa' is sure to capture your imagination and pique your curiosity. Sturdy spires of luminous purple, each crowned with a chartreuse crest, are reminiscent of mermaids' tails as they dive and disappear into the waves (giggling as they go). This entrancing Veronica will stop you in your tracks to admire its extraordinary appearance.Flowering throughout the summer from July until September, the towers of blooms are a magnet for bees and butterflies. Growing to 80cm tall, with a spread of 40cm, 'Christa' is ideal for adding a pop of colour to the middle of a border, or for an eye-catching container. Veronica spicata 'Christa' performs splendidly as a cut flower with an excellent vase life. The playful stems add an intrigue to floral creations - visitors will be tempted to reach out and touch them, to check if they are real! Prefers a sunny or lightly shaded location, in moist, well-drained, fertile soil. A fully hardy perennial which does not need additional winter protection.
