Verbena hybrida ‘Magelana Scarlet’ blooms are incredibly long-lasting and large, providing you with a high performing addition to spring, summer and autumn gardens. One of the most prolific verbena varieties around, and its intense, scarlet red colour will not fade even in the hottest summer months. Flowers emerge in May, much sooner than many verbenas, lasting until the first frosts of autumn, around October time. That’s an astounding six months of blooms! Flowers bunch together to provide generous stems of blooms held above fern-like leaves which grows to form attractive mounds which cascade and trail to around 40cm. Perfect for creating colourful waterfalls of flowers in baskets, pots and window boxes. Once established Verbena hybrida ‘Magelana Scarlet’ drought tolerant and prefers a spot in full sun with well-drained soil of any type (except clay). This is a tender annual which reaches a height of 20cm with a spread of up to 35cm. Plants are not frost tolerant and will die back once the cold weather arrives, compost them down at the end of the season.
