Verbena hybrida Lanai Scarlet with EyeGiant Verbena BloomsVerbena hybrida 'Lanai Scarlet with Eye' is a not too distant relative of the fabulous 'Lanai Up Peach', an award winner for its long-lasting blooms and stunning displays. Those characteristics are something both share, even during the hottest, sunniest months, holding the striking pure colour without fading. Flowering begins in April and May, earlier than most Verbena, continuing until the first frosts. Giant blooms, made up of smaller, cuter flowers grouped together like a perfect landing pad for bees and butterflies, cover the stems. Trails from baskets and pot edges, hiding serrated foliage beneath the attention seeking blooms. Verbena hybrida 'Lanai Scarlet with Eye' is fantastic grown as ground-cover, suppressing weeds in beds and borders. Prefers to be planted in well-drained soil in sun or part shade. It is a tender annual, withstanding down to around 5 C. H: 25cm S: 30cm.
