Tell Me More...
Vaccinium corymbosum 'Top Hat' will be the crowning glory of a patio, balcony or raised bed. Smaller in stature, it has been bred with accessibility in mind. Now, even if you have a smaller outside space, you can include this delicious, dwarf variety in your planting too! In March to April bell-shaped, white flowers appear to draw in pollinators. These gradually develop into vitamin rich, juicy and delicious berries which seem to continually emerge from July to September. Then, in autumn, this is topped off by a sensational autumnal foliage display whereby the leaves turn to shades of scarlet before the plant falls dormant for the winter. Fruits are excellent as a fresh topping to porridge and cereals, scrumptious in muffins and cheesecakes and freezer friendly for inclusion in smoothies, ice-creams and milkshakes throughout the year.Vaccinium corymbosum 'Top Hat' prefers moist, well-drained, organically rich, slightly acidic soil. Locate in full sun or part shade with any aspect other than north-facing. Plants reach a height and spread of 60cm. A hardy, deciduous, perennial fruiting shrub.
