Tell Me More...
A new arrival for 2024, this is a ‘Double Late’ variety of tulip which flowers in April to May. Tulipa ‘Sunlover’ blooms are fully double, and peony shaped. This brings you generous, cup-shaped beauties which are fit for any vase or bouquet, as well as your garden. Emerging in shades of golden yellow with red-orange striations, flowers mature and widen to offer shades of orange and orange-red as they intensify. When held against the silvery green foliage – which is retained from March to June – they create a truly dazzling display. Happy in containers, gravel gardens and open ground, their maximum height of 40cm means they would even suit a window box or slightly more exposed border as the shorter stems give them added robustness. Plant Tulipa ‘Sunlover’ in fertile, well-drained soil of any kind except heavy clay and position in full sun with any aspect other than north-facing. A hardy (H6), bulbous perennial which should not need any additional protection if planted in the ground
