The variation and vibrancy of Tulipa 'Striped Crown' is second to none. With no two flowers the same, each emerges as a unique variation of bold red streaks on a golden yellow background. Belonging to a newly added division of tulips known as Coronet, 'Striped Crown' bears the curved, delicately rolled petals characteristic to this group. Coronet tulips are known for being long flowering, as well as having an impressive vase life. Try pairing with classic single, cup-shaped varieties to highlight their flamboyant form. We suggest deep red 'Kingsblood' and the canary yellow 'Big Smiles' to complement this multi-coloured variety. 'Striped Crown' flowers from mid to late spring. Originating from hot, dry habitats, tulips prefer fertile, sharply drained soil in full sun, with shelter from strong winds. Excessive wet will not be tolerated. Tulipa 'Striped Crown' is a hardy, bulbous perennial which reaches a height of 45cm with a spread of 15cm.
