Tulip Silk Road, a Double Early tulip which grows to a height of 40cm so is one of the shorter varieties but still tall and sturdy enough to use as a cut flower. Tulip Silk Road is a hardy perennial bulb and has lance-shaped, grey-green leaves. Plant in Autumn where it will get full sun or part-shade in a moist, well-drained soil and buds will emerge in April. These buds mature to cup shaped, peony style blooms which are ivory with varying amounts of pink ripples along each petal.
