Tell Me More...
The single late Tulip Kingsblood gives you a good indication of the appearance of the flowers and sure enough the rich scarlet blooms definitely give an air of the red tunics worn by the Queen's Guard. Standing proudly to attention on sturdy tall stems they will give an impressive cherry red display in the late spring. Perfect for cutting and adding to bouquets. Striking on their own but they really pop when planted with dark cultivars like Tulip Queen of the Night or Tulip Havran. Or better still pair Tulip Kingsblood with Tulip Queen of the Night and Tulip Apricot beauty for a riot of sophisticated colour in the spring border or pots. Plant in Autumn for flowers in April and May. Loves full sun exposure in well-drained soil.
