Tell Me More...
Tulip Hugs and Kisses, an adorable name for this pretty tulip - we would love to send you all Hugs and Kisses! A relative of Tulip Shirley you can immediately see the family resemblance with the white flowers that are peppered with pink markings. The buds of Hugs and Kisses emerge as green, then transform to pale yellow and shift to white with pink accents that intensify as the flower matures. Whilst it may appear delicate this is a sturdy tulip which reaches 40cm in height. Tulip Hugs and Kisses is a single late species and flowers in April-May; it is resilient enough to withstand the blustery showers which are prevalent at this time of year. Plant to 15cm deep in late Autumn in a fertile, well-drained medium which enjoys a sunny spot. After flowers have faded remember to allow the foliage to die back prior to tidying up as this restores valuable nutrients to the bulb for the following year.
