Tell Me More...
Tulip Fly Away is a lily-flowered Tulip which offers a fiery sunset of colours to enhance your garden. Red goblet-shaped blooms are edged with sunset yellow and orange on reflexed petals. The foliage and slender stems contrast with the hot blooms perfectly. Fly Away is a late spring bloomer which is planted in autumn. Plant as a swathe of 10-15 bulbs to create a focal point or add in a similar amount of a contrasting hue. Tulip bulbs should be planted 15cm deep in well-drained, fertile soil. They prefer a sunny aspect of the garden which is sheltered from wind. Tulip Fly Away will grow to a height of 50cm (20") and spread 20cm (8"). This Tulip is attractive to pollinators and has been designated H6 hardy by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS). To encourage the bulbs to bloom the following year, remove dead flowers and the stems once yellowed.
