Tell Me More...
Tulip Double Negrita is a glorious double-petalled Tulip which creates drama in your garden. Peony-shaped blooms are created by double layers of mauve-purple petals with central pink streaks on outside petals. Attractive to pollinators, these luscious blooms are held aloft by stately stalks above contrasting narrow-leaved foliage. Plant clumps of 10-15 Tulips together to create an eye-catching centrepiece for your garden. Tulip bulbs are planted in autumn, 15cm deep, blooming in April/May. The Tulip is about 40cm (16") tall and 10cm (4") in spread. Tulip Double Negrita prefers to be planted in fertile, well-drained soil in a sunny but sheltered aspect of the garden. The colour of this bloom makes it perfect for a cut flower display. This Tulip has been classified as H6 hardy by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS). For best results, deadhead plants as flowers fade and remove foliage when yellow to encourage regrowth the following year.
