Tulipa 'Double Flag' is a peony-shaped, double late variety which will bring stunning elegance to your garden during April each year. Cupped, royal purple, double petals create a beautiful bloom which is attractive to pollinators. The flowers are carried aloft on stately stalks above contrasting green-blue, strap-shaped foliage. Planted together in clumps they will help to create a strong statement in your garden.Bulbs should be planted 15cm deep in well-drained, fertile soil in autumn. Tulipa 'Double Flag' prefers a sunny, sheltered aspect in the garden and reaches up to 40cm in height with a spread of around 10cm. The generous shape of this bloom makes it perfect for a cut flower arrangement and it has been classified as hardy (H6) by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS).In order to encourage flowers for the following year, deadhead as the blooms fade and allow foliage to die back before removing.
