Tell Me More...
Belonging to the Darwin hybrid group of tulips, which are known for their tendency to have a flush of contrasting colour, Tulipa 'Cash' does not disappoint. Appearing in April, large, single cup-shaped flowers comprise of wide, orange-gold petals, complete with hot red flame at the centre. Shorter than most Darwin hybrids, 'Cash' has as neat, compact appearance, ideal for borders and containers. Combine with deep maroons and burgundies such as 'National Velvet' and 'Jan Reus', or purples such as 'Blue Diamond' and 'Double Negrita' for a rich, dramatic display. Tulips make excellent cut flowers, lasting up to three weeks in the vase. Originating from hot, dry habitats, tulips prefer fertile, sharply drained soil in full sun, with shelter from strong winds. Excessive wet will not be tolerated. A hardy, bulbous perennial which reaches a height of 40cm with an individual spread of up to 15cm. Drought tolerant once established.
