Tell Me More...
Two-toned Tulip Atlantis is a striking and unusual late-flowering Tulip. A wonderfully colourful mix of violet purple petals which have white to yellow tips. The blooms sit proudly on rich blue-green stems and can grow up to 40cm tall. Perfect for cutting - do this just as the buds begin to open to ensure a long vase-life. Also, leave some foliage attached to the bulb in the ground to enable the plant to photosynthesise ready for next year's display.Plant your bulbs 20cm deep in the ground between October and December and expect flowers in mid to late spring. Tulips will grow in any soil type which is free draining and in full sun. Add a handful of horticultural grit to the planting holes if you garden on heavy clay or ground which can become waterlogged.Great for the middle of the border, or grown in pots with plants such as Heuchera, Forget-me-nots or Hardy geraniums - all of which will help to hide the foliage as it fades and suppress weeds around your Tulips.
