Tell Me More...
Belonging to the Fosteriana Group of tulips, 'Sweetheart' has single, bowl-shaped flowers, in a soft, lemon yellow edged in white. Stems are reliably strong, able to withstand blustery wind and spring showers. To see 'Sweetheart' at its best, plant in bold groups in a sunny border or container display. Try pairing with spring yellows and blues for a pleasing colour mix, such as narcissus and muscari. Tulips make excellent cut flowers, lasting for up to three weeks. Plant generously to ensure there are blooms to spare for the vase.Originating from hot, dry habitats, tulips prefer fertile, sharply drained soil in full sun, with shelter from strong winds. Excessive wet will not be tolerated. H&S: 40cm x 15cm. Hardy bulbous perennial.
